Dutch-Surinamese hip-hop MC from Rotterdam, South Holland, the Netherlands. Born 20 April 1978 in Paramaribo, Suriname, Winston better known as Winne moved to Rotterdam-West with his family when he was eight years old. Growing up on West Kruiskade, he started rapping in English at a young age, then known as Static his friends urged him to rap in Dutch, at which point he took on the name Winne. He was taken under the wing by experienced MC's D.C.O. and Alee Rock, performing in and around Rotterdam together. He has since solidified his position in the Dutch hip-hop landscape as one of the more prolific MC's signed to TopNotch. He is also a member of the rap-collective Great Minds.
