A.k.a. Winston Scotty Fitzgerald
Highly influential Cape Breton fiddler. He began playing at age eight and his first public performance was at a picnic at age twelve. During the 1930s he played radio shows and toured with Hank Snow for about two and a half years. In 1947, he formed the Radio Entertainers with Beattie Wallace (piano) and Estwood Davidson (guitar). They recorded numerous 78s, as well as four LPs, and received TV exposure playing on Cliff MacKay's "Holiday Ranch" and Don Messer's "Don Messer's Jubilee" programs. Later, he played as a member of The Cape Breton Symphony on The John Allan Cameron Show. Never a full-time musician, he worked at a variety of jobs, including fishing, cooking, carpentry, and aluminum siding work.. b. Feb 16, 1914 in White Point, Cape Breton, NS. d.
