Winter Of Apokalypse was formed by the two founding members of Thy Infernal, Armageddon and Slut. They had recorded an untitled demo as far back as 1999, when Thy Infernal was still operational. When Thy Infernal split up in 2002, Armageddon and Slut decided to pursue Winter Of Apokalypse full time. The line-up at this time was Armageddon (drums), Slut (guitar), Fascist (guitar), Alkoholik (bass), and Hell (vocals). They released a demo in 2003. Their first full-length, "Solitary Winter Night", was released on Moribund Records in 2005. This album was a re-recording of the 2003 demo. One track, "Dark Sinistral Path", featured lyrics written by Oblak Ilking, drummer in the Canadian black metal band Godless North. Following the release of their debut album, Hell and Alkoholik left the band and Slut took over the bass duties while Fascist took over vocals.
