Wolfgang Stavonhagen is a violinist, conductor, and music educator, a concertmaster of Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, who lived in Japan since 1952. He started playing as a first violinist for Otto Klemperer at the age of fourteen. From the mid-thirties and before moving to Japan, Stavonhagen worked as a concertmaster for various opera and symphonic orchestras in Dessau, Leipzig, Cologne, and Frankfurt. Wolfgang also taught violin at the Toho Gakuen Music High School.
