Album 2009 on Rad Key Records label
Alternative (Punk, Rock’n’Roll, Lo-Fi)
Debut release by San Francisco bands WORK and PILES on upstart label Rad Key Records. Work is the bipolar spawn of Ohio drop-out SARAH BERNAT (16 BITCH PILE-UP) and Southern California’s dancenoisepunk pioneer, ERIN ALLEN (CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, HIGH CASTLE). PIles is one-half Midwestern automaton work-ethic and one-half Northern California drug-fed nature-freedom. ERIC LANDMARK (formerly of NUMBERS, XEROBOT) churns out catchy hooks with stoic regularity on double keyboard synthesizers. Meanwhile, AMELIA RATDKE (formerly of TEA ELLES) flies primitive and wild on drums, all the while caterwauling about America’s 20-something sex and drugs rites of passage. Pressing of 500; mastered by Bernat and Landmark, respectively; silk-screened covers and design by Allen.
