Folk (Folk, Poetry)
Fold out booklet with lyrics The tone-poems on Wolfsong Vol.1 we're recorded over a span of more than twenty-five years, and they feature Wulf at his most intimate, often with just a single instrument accompanying him and his magnificent voice. Beautiful revealing and rippling with plain-spoken power, they document the emotions of an artist at work capturing the immediacy of a life of love and sorrow Wulf's recording setup was very simple and direct often just a low-fi tape recorder and a cheap microphone held in place by a couple of rubber bands - and the music itself is also simple and direct, gaining impact from the honest and emotional practice of art. Whether backed by detuned acoustic guitar, keyboards, or his own stringed hybrids - the Itar and Bassura - Wulf gave vivid testimony to the primal need for creativity and passion. Restored and remastered by Zoe in the Zendik Arts Studio Wolfsong Vol.1 is the first in a series dedicated to the legacy of this innovative musical master.
