Xenia Belmas

Xenia Belmas (1890–1981) was a russian born opera singer. She started her career in the Odessa Opera Theater before World War 1. After the russian revolution she moved over Poland, Germany, and Italy to France, where she continued her career in the 1920s. After excessive touring, she moved to South Africa in 1934 on the peak of her success, and disappeared into obscurity. Soon believed dead by some, she stayed in South Africa until her death in 1981.
