Album HK 2007 on Fine Time Recordings label
Electronic, Rock and Spoken Word (Avant-garde)
Description: A great noise / rock album 3 years in the making! - Imagine the ferocious power and sound of a race-tuned engine. harnessed and channelled into the creation of the ultimate anti-music matter - double cd in last plastic case - with passport-type booklet and miniature xper.xr perfume bottle - What it's about im not sure but the music's good. The band initially intended to use a Formula 1 engine but they had to settle for a precision engineered Honda Superblackbird engine. which can acheve 13000 rpm and with near instantaneous throttle response, makes it the ideal production engine to play music with. Description: 70 MPH (you have no friends) Imagine the ferocious power and sound of a race-tuned engine harnessed and channelled into the creation of the ultimate anti-music matter… ABSTRACT: Imagine trying to harness the roar and ferocious power of the internal combustion engine, sculpting it into an orchestrated sound that exists somewhere between heaven and hell. The 70 mph project is a collection of compositional materials engineered especially with race-tuned engines, arranged by Xper.Xr to create something like a music - an innovative über-sound for the culturally over-stuffed. 73 MPH (there is no spoon) THE JOB: This new interdisciplinary project is now finally being published and available in a lavishly packaged double CD set (70 and 73 mph), completed with a perfume especially created in conjunction with Scent Systems and George Dodd. Comes also with a passport-size booklet detailing the pain and hell of 3 years of labour and love, bad-mouthing just about anyone who once stood in its way. Now is your chance to be my friend, and I don't take no as a no. The interdisciplinary fusion of engine technology and music which ‘70 mph’ taps into has a tradition in experimental and popular music that includes such artists as Marinetti, Stockhausen and Georges Antheil and others to whom the engine has provided symbolism and imagery, such as Kraftwerk and Deep Purple. But don't be a fool, this is so not that.
