The Red Trwynau was a Welsh punk / pop-power band from Cwm Tawe. The band came to prominence in the late 1970s with fast and raw music with an anti-institutional attitude. The band was formed in 1977 by a group of friends at Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera . The band had a great deal of coverage of their song "Women Under 15" being banned from being played on Swansea Sound. Later, Aled Glynne Davies, DJ on the station, said it was banned in terms of the quality of the music that did not in terms of content. Despite this, the ban helped raise the profile of the band and are said to be one of the first Welsh bands to come to the attention of John Peel , DJ on BBC Radio 1. Members: Rhys Harris - voice, Huw Eirug - guitar, Huw Chiswell - keyboards, Alun Harris - bass ,Rhodri Williams - guitar ,Aled Roberts - drums (1978-) .Ian Jones - drums (1977)
