A.k.a. Yael Deckelbaum (Hebrew: יעל דקלבאום)
Yael Deckelbaum (born 1979, Jerusalem, Israel) is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, pianist, percussionist, and peace activist best known as one third of the acoustic trio Habanot Nechama and with the Prayer Of The Mothers Ensemble. At the age of 16 she won first prize in a contest for the best young singer-songwriter in Israel. In the mid 2000's she fronted the group Yael & The Palmtrees. Two of her songs with that band were used on the TV series "The L Word" in the United States. Deckelbaum has also toured, performed and recorded with Shlomo Artzi. Her first solo album, Ground Zero, was released in 2010. Since 2016 she has been performing and touring the world with Prayer of the Mothers and campaigning for peace and coexistence.
