A.k.a. Yair Lapid (Hebrew: יאיר לפיד)
Yair Lapid (born born 5 November 1963, Tel Aviv) currently serves as chairman of the Yesh Atid (There is a Future) political party in Israel. He served as Israeli Minister of Finance and as a member of the 19th Knesset (parliament) in 2013-14. Prior to entering politics in 2012 Lapid had a successful career as a journalist, TV news anchor, talk show host, film actor, screenwriter, playwright, writer and lyricist. He is the author of nine books including six novels, two children's books, and a collection of his newspaper colums. He wrote lyrics as well as scripts for the musical drama television series Ha-Hofesh Ha'Acharon in 1989 and has periodically written songs for both television and for popular musicians, including Israeli pop star Sarit Hadad.
