Liner notes from release: Reissue of cassette originally released by Nearsighted Records. I'm not sure if the correct term for the years covered on this cassette would be "dilly-dallying" or "fiddle-farting." Either way, these were years in which I tried to reconcile my love for unironic pop music with my nascent hipster love for noise and wanky improv, and I think it took me a while to realize anew that a song without ridiculous Moog or sampling or what-have-you can be all right, too. This tape is some sort of mirror image to the Celesteville album "Kohoutek," which I highly recommend. A few of these tracks started out as tracks for that one. Other tracks should have probably been included on the 12" "Albania Tonight." In retrospect, I like this version (earlier) of "Let's Be Bored" better. And why "To The Sun" wasn't released until now is a mystery to me; see above for my ideas on that subject. Maybe I was too busy playing old video games. 6 of these tracks were related in some way to the Atari 2600 or Odyssey 2, and one to the Commodore 64. Moral: music doesn't go along with fiddle-farting. Brian MacDonald helped a lot with some of these songs; though we've definitely gone different ways since, we had some fun times annoying the neighbors and a few spectators. "Rural Breakdance King" was written with Christie Gorman in mind, although I embellished it with a few details from my past. Please ignore my hideous vocals."
