Tokyo-based multi-instrumentalist Binn Skinni and San Francisco-based producer Yameen have been friends for more than a decade, but with the Binn Yameen EP, they become official collaborators for the first time. This musical partnership has been a long time coming, but it's well worth the wait. It begins with Binn Skinni laying down the bass and guitar on the Yameen-produced "Feel It All" (featuring soulful vocals from Georgia Anne Muldrow). To return the favor, Yameen remixes Binn Skinni's "Alone With You," and to keep the remix vibe going, longtime Yameen homie Blockhead contributes a hauntingly beautiful remix of "Feel It All" for some additional funk. Add instrumental versions of all three songs, and you've got an EP that will have you hoping for a Binn Yameen full-length.
