Hip-Hop/Rap, Electronic, Folk and World
In 1988, at the age of 14 years old, Yaya starts to practice his raps over any instrumental he can get his hands on. Like many other kids from the Parisian inner city's, his soul burns with rebellion and frustration. Introverted and at first glance distant, Yaya uses rap to express these feelings. In Feb. 1989, he steps on stage for the first time and in 1992 he sets off on a tour of France, Switzerland and Italy. A decisive encounter with DJ Kurser led to a concert in 1995 with Schkoonk! and from this moment, Yaya found his musical double. The result of this collaboration is "Mal en Point" / "Que Quelqu'un M'explique" - "Sick and Tired" / "Won't Someone Explain" (Plug It Records/FR352).
