Yellowstone began in the mid ‘90’s as a three-piece power-pop band making original music with a Mod look and feel. Influenced heavily by the bands of the ‘60’s and the Mod revival and blending elements from the early ‘90’s Britpop scene, the Seattle sound of the same era and emphasizing depth and quality in the song writing. The band itself though has changed many times. The original line-up of Luke Smith on bass and vocals, John Davis on guitar and Jim Robertson on drums lasted for two years until the band split. After a hiatus of around 20 years, one particular on-line Mod radio DJ, Alan May, picked up on some original demo tapes and sponsored the making of the first album.
