Japanese pop / soul singer. He was born in Tosa, Kochi Prefecture on September 21, 1946. He debuted as a lead singer of Castle & Gates that the Japanese folk song group. He formed Zoo Nee Voo while in college in 1968 and was in charge of lead singer. After disbanding Zoo Nee Voo he became a solo singer and released movie songs and animation songs.
