Band, *1977 DE
Electronic
A classic of German electronics, the formation known today as You (sometimes referred to as "Yourovision") was born in 1977, when Udo Hanten (synthesizers) and Uli Weber (guitar) decided to work together in the field of Electronic Music. Udo Hanten had considerable experience in the field, having worked with Harald Grosskopf on Synthesist. The collaboration went fairly smooth and in 1979, synthesist and graphic designer Albin Meskes jumped on the wagon, completing the trio. After the first album, Uli Weber left the group, and subsequent works were done in the duo format by Udo Hanten and Albin Meskes. Overall, the group had several LP albums released and a CD boxset in 1996 that gathered all of their previously released works and one CD with completely new music. The drums on the first LP are played by Harald Grosskopf (in the credits he appears under the pseudonym Lhan Gopal).
