A.k.a. Locate
Graffiti/visual artist Oliver Waters & Justin K Broadrick, aka Youpho, open minded junglist, drum & bass explorers. A chance meeting in a post office in Church Stretton, Shropshire, lead to late night studio excursions into the realms of bass & twisted breakbeat manipulation. Their music can often lull you into a false sense of security with optimistic other worldly tonality before cracking open a plethora of audio sonics. Youpho was supported by John Peel who years before had given Napalm Death a large number of Radio 1 sessions on his show and continued to support both Waters and Broadrick with their other sonic offerings - long after Youpho disbanded. Projectile, Bio-mechanoid and Changelings were initial aliases Youpho recorded under before they were signed by Hard Leaders. There is a lot of unreleased material under those first monikers. A 12" titled "The Snarl" was slated for 28.10.1998 release through Juice Records/Splash Records, it was played on dubplate by the likes of Randall and DJ Hype on his Kiss FM show. Exclusive compilation tracks were slated for Hardleaders and DJ SS label Formation Records.
