Album US 1957 on Savoy Records label
Jazz (Bop)
Recorded at NYC, October 10, 1957. First pressings carry the deep groove stamped in the label and have the RVG initials stamped in the deadwax. The matrix/runout numbers on both sides of true first pressings show an interesting mistake that was crossed out (see images for these details). Crossed out on both sides is catalogue number 12130, after which the correct number for this release, 12117, was stamped in the dead wax. The catalogue number 12130, however, is also a Savoy release, namely "Dexter Gordon - Dexter Rides Again". This mistake suggests that during the preparations for the stampers, they possibly worked on both titles at the same time, which explains the mix up of the two catalogue numbers.
