Yves Klein (April 28, 1928, Nice - June 6, 1962, Paris, France) was a French visual artist, theorist and performer. Klein put together a project for a Symphonie monotone in 1947-48, a musical composition of a single tone : "I created a monotone symphony whose theme is what I wished my life to be." Premiered at his marriage with Rotraut Uecker, January 21, 1962. Performed at Festival de Cannes (Cannes, France), May 12, 1962. Performed at Église Saint-Merri (Paris, France), October 2006 for the exhibition dedicated to Klein at Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris, France).
