Yvonne Lam (b. 1981) is an American violinist from Los Angeles, a member of Eighth Blackbird ensemble. She studied piano and violin at the Colburn School of Performing Arts. Some of her violin teachers included Alex Treger, Alice Schoenfeld, and Linda Rose; Yohsuke Suga, Louise Lepley, and Boris Slutsky (at Peabody Institute) taught her piano. Yvonne earned a bachelor's degree from the Curtis Institute Of Music in 2005, where she studied with Victor Danchenko, and her master's degree in violin performance from the Juilliard School (supervised by Robert Mann (4). Lam has appeared as soloist with many renowned orchestras, such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Westchester Symphony Orchestra, The Glendale Symphony Orchestra, The Colburn Orchestra, and ACME (American Contemporary Music Ensemble). She also served as an assistant concertmaster of the Washington National Opera Orchestra for three seasons. As a chamber musician, Yvonne Lam appeared on stage with Roger Tapping, Anthony Marwood, Ida Kavafian, Annie Kavafian, Gilbert Kalish, Fred Sherry and many other distinguished musicians.
