Zack Hansen is a post-metal/post rock/doom/sludge drummer from Tucson, Arizona. Zack began playing the drums at the age of 13, he is self taught, learning from early 2000's punk albums and fellow drummers. Zack played in the same band through high school until starting North in the year 2005. He has recorded on every North release, and is the only member of the band to play every single show. He has also played on the unreleased Long Live The Smoking Gun full length record, and formed a blackened death/grind group with fellow North member Matt Mutterperl, entitled Languish. Zack plays a custom SJC Drums kit, Zildjian cymbals, DW hardware, Remo heads, VIc Firth sticks, and a Pearl Dennis Chambers snare. Zack does not endorse any of these companies. Zack also releases ambient electronic and piano music under the moniker Zachary Reid.
