The history of ZATVOR project begins in 1996 with the first experiments in traditional, old-school industrial style. The results of those experiments was successfully represented to the fold and close friends during several performances and later recorded as a self-release cassette album. However, the unexpected curves of life gave no opportunities to continue the regular practical development of noise and industrial ideas of Koles, the project leader and Akzent, the group frontman; so, the resurrection of ZATVOR as a real functional formation refers to 2005, when the co-operation with Anatoly Voronin, the enthusiast of the experimental sound and computer expert, formed the recent musical and sound style of the group. In 2006 Tatyana Serga, the owner of a specific colored voice, joined ZATVOR and the project members began to prepare the material for the first album in "urban folk" style, as a part of the general ZATVOR philosophy. Urban folk as a concept is an attempt to compensate the spiritual deficit of urban routine life with the new magic rituals, instead of the lost natural, archaic ways of dialogue with the Earth and the Universe. The radical tempo acceleration of the information flows and technical progress paralyzes the bewildered souls of City inhabitants, who had lost togetherness with the Nature and now have to create the unique form of the world perception - City Universe, the distinctly structured and functionally planned oppressive World of material values unadjusted extremely to the harmonious co-existence with its own ancient natural roots. ZATVOR tries to bring back a piece of re-formed magic to everyday urban life, weaving together in its music the traditional folk motives and the sound, light and color attributes of modern civilization in the context of Virtual space as a basis of a new mystical consciousness.
