Zeeda was raised in the Fisher Housing Projects on the West bank of New Orleans. After rapping on the streets of the New Orleans and entering various talent shows, Zeeda decided to take her career seriously. In 1995, Zeeda secured a deal with the then prominent label Smoke 1 Records (the 1st label to do a joint venture with the power house No Limit Records headed by Master P). Under SMK 1, Zeeda released her debut album “Playa 4 Life” locally and sold over 10,000 units with limited promotion.​. Zeeda was voted as one of the top 10 female Mc's of all time along with platinum selling artist Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, and Mc Lyte by the publication Murda Dog Magazine. Zeeda was also voted as the Female Rap Artist of the Year at the 2006 Texas HHH Awards and was also a feature Artist at the 2008 NBA All Star event festivities sponsored by Nike and Foot Locker and the 2010-2016 SXSW Music Conference.​
