Born in the interior of São Paulo, they were what could be called authentic hillbilly. Zico Dias was a driver and farm worker Ferrinho. It was a duo specializing in typically rural genres. They participated in the first Caipira Group formed in the late 1920s by Cornélio Pires, the pioneer of caipira music, with rural artists from the region of Piracicaba. Also participating were Turma Caipira, Arlindo Santana, Caçula, Mariano, Sebastião Ortiz and Sorocabinha. The first time that the Caipira Group met was in 1924, for presentations in São Paulo. In 1929, the group returned to meet for presentations in Rio de Janeiro. In the same year, they left the series of disc of Cornélio Pires with the label Columbia.
