Band, BE
Sheldon Siegel is a Belgian improvisation/free music ensemble. Founded in 2007 by Erik Heestermans (drums, percussion etc.) and Gerard Herman (saxophones etc.), the duo mainly worked on song-structure-oriented improvisations. Since mid 2008, Gino Coomans (cello etc.) joined the ensemble, and the focus broadened towards sound experimentations and the creation of soundscape-like live sets. They operate mainly as a trio, but have played with guests such as Roscoe Mitchell, John Butcher, Audrey Lauro, Cassis Cornuta, Cam Deas, Leo Coomans, Peter Jacquemyn, Daniele Martini, Milan Warmoeskerken and the Kris Vanderstraeten/Christophe Albertijn/Jean Demey Trio.
