Originally known as Funkymuskrat vs. Ramenboy, the one-syllable moniker sp00 was drafted in favor of the nine-syllable original. The band formed a record label in 2004 called spoomusic.com, LLC. They are known to play live shows in which live instruments such as drums and keyboards are combined with sounds from their laptops.
