Album notes: Jerusalem is another healing experiment I performed with the help of my amazing fellow musician Bandoek (George Apostolakis) a wonderful musician from Thessaloniki the capital of Northern Greece now residing in Finland and the recording engineer George Manios who also owned the recording studio we recorded in. Bandoek is a great experimental musician and guitarist and I called him to tell him my idea! Just like with my friend Ronan Chris Murphy, I asked Bandoek to just meet at Manios' recording studio and without having previously rehearsed nor having discussed what we would do, I requested that we began expressing our feelings and thoughts in music form and in my case in Spoken Word as well as Voice. Whatever came to us. The interesting observation is that this recording could only have occurred from this interaction and only, mine with Bandoek. I sang to whatever he produced and expressed and he did the same, responding to my musical phrases and phrasing and spoken word, leading me to every new phrase. I had been traveling to Israel and Palestine that year as I was collaborating with 2 great Visual Artists, Anisa Ashkar (Palestinian) and Joseph Dadoune(Israeli), so I was greatly influenced by their culture, I also visited Jerusalem and played Music with 2 amazing friend musicians there, Gilad and Yarden. So every word was true and real for me and a product of sheer Inspiration! Our Jerusalem was born. "I Love this way of singing. It is simple, effortless, such a Joy to my heart and Spirit. With Improvisation I feel that I become one with everything and everything becomes one with me. I am able to communicate and heal myself. It is such a Freedom". Alexia
