Accu was founded in Helsinki in 1998 by cousins Lasse and Harri Väyrynen. Lemonators' guitarist and co-producer of Finnish artist Anssi Kela's smash-hit (platinum sales in 2001) album "Nummela", Risto Eskolin stepped in as producer in late 2001 but was later assimilated into the band.
