Avet Ter-Gabrielyan (1899–1983) was a famous Soviet-Armenian violinist, People's Artist of Armenian SSR (1945), and one of the founding members of Komitas Quartet (played the 1st violin from 1925 to 1976). He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1929. Ter-Gabrielyan had been performing with Alexander Goldenweiser, Konstantin Igumnov, Heinrich Neuhaus, Victor Merzhanov and other prominent musicians.
