Bob Mintzer is a jazz saxophonist, composer, arranger, and big band leader based in Los Angeles, California.Bob Mintzer, born January 27, 1953 and a native of New Rochelle, New York. He is active in the areas of performance, composing/arranging, and music education. While touring with the Yellowjackets or his own quartet, or big band, Mintzer writes music for big band, various small bands, saxophone quartets, orchestral and concert band music.Mintzer's latest small trio-band recording is called Canyon Cove, with Larry Goldings and Peter Erskine.
