Single FR 1970 on Straight label
Rock and Blues (Blues Rock, Avant-garde)
First pressing by Pathe Marconi of French-issue picture-sleeved single, containing two tracks taken from Trout Mask Replica double album, released in the same year. (Use that link for band credits not on this release)
The sleeve image is of the band, onstage during Tuesday 28th October 1969 [Day 5], at the 5-day Amougies, Actuel Festival, Belgium. [Vliet/Beefheart at microphone - Harkelroad/Zoot Horn Rollo in background on guitar].
The sleeve is lightweight white card, printed two-color semi-gloss. Black & white half-tone/green on front and black/green line-work on reverse, which includes lyrics to both tracks. The sleeve is right-opening. The front edge has a perforated tab for retail store cataloging purposes (check this is intact if you are purchasing a 'mint' issue - see Sleeve Tag in images.
The vinyl labels have the 'Straight' logo of white/black/orange on pink background. Wide center spindle-hole. "Made in France by Pathe Marconi" in radius text.
The band's title on the sleeve reads with an ampersand, but on labels it appears in full.
In addition to the lyrics, the back cover reads:
"Rappel Captain Beefheart "Trout Mask Replica" album de deux disques STS 1053"
"Les Industries Musicales et Electriques Pathe Marconi - Paris"
"Made In France" "SIAT - Paris"
"3-70"
"Cadaver" is incorrectly spelled "Cavader" on the label.
