A.k.a. Flesh For Frank Minimal Frank
A multi disciplinary artist, with experience in painting, drawing, cartoon & comic book creations, as well as a poet, writer, and last remaining contributor to the Mastock experimental music review zine (as well as its online blog equivalent), Frank Zen began his audio sonic journey in the late 90s using computers, at first to create his own sampling bank and sound effects, soon to record his first yet unreleased noise "Brain Piss" EP. His earliest recorded contributions were for the ReCyClor project as main voice & lyricist as well as mangling an electric bass using old scratched up CDs, while processing the noise to its extreme limits. In the early Y2K he started recording under his two main monickers, Minimal Frank (for his more subdued abstract ambient pieces) and Flesh For Frank (for his more noise-oriented explorations). Although it took some considerate time to officially release any full-length recording, Frank has collaborated in a multitude of projects (such as "G & F" with Gary Flanagan, "Psyonic Flesh with Jason Rodgers, "Leper Collective" with Maim Patterson, amongst many others) as well as donated numerous tracks for various international eletronic and noise compilations, more recently for the Node Pajomo "Hiroshima Yeah!" CDr series. Frank is continually recording and working on strange and unconventional non-linear sound and noise explorations ranging from the etheral yet dark ambient (as displayed in the theme soundtrack to the short 2014 film "Downsized" as Minimal Frank) to the almost trash-compactor pure noise mangling (as demonstrated in his "The Chrnx Sessions" by Flesh For Frank release), his noise music is principally composed of computer-generated and processed sounds from donated recordings and sounds, recycled sounds, field recordings, and various everyday rumblings, transformed and mangled beyond recognition. Currently he is also collaborating as one half of the long-delayed but continually on-going project ReCyClor.
