From booklet: "This first American recording of a complete opera by RCA Victor was made in the late Spring of 1950 in New York City." A note on the track list. The labels on the discs of this set were arranged for an automatic record changer -- in other words, Disc 1 (Sides A & B) was labelled with Sides 15 & 28; Disc 2 labelled Sides 16 & 27; Disc 3 labelled Sides 15 & 26, etc.. A note on the catalog numbers: "LM(X) 6101" is printed on the spine and on the libretto (see photos); "LM 6101" is printed only on the record labels.
