Hakop Mekinyan is an Armenian violinist, concertmaster of Radio and Television Orchestra of Yerevan (1971–76) and member of Komitas Quartet (1976–1985). He graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory in 1971 and received his PhD degree in Violin Performance and Instruction from the Moscow Conservatory in 1979. Mekinyan won the first prize at the Transcaucasian Violin Competition in 1972. Nowadays Hakop Mekinyan lives in the United States. In 1992, he founded Hye Art Piano Trio in Glendale, California.
