Track 1-1 is the opening statement of the 78 r.p.m. recording of Intrusions recorded in Gualala in 1950-51, and issued by Lauriston Marshall. Track 1-3 is the introduction to Oedipus broadcast, KPFA-Berkeley, July 16, 1954. Tracks 1-14, 1-17 and 4-1 are excepts from an interview with Eugene Paul, May 30, 1970. Track 1-19 recorded August 1995. Track 1-20 recorded in concert at Südwestfunk 3, Karlsruhe, Germany, January 24, 1990. Track 2-1 is the introduction to a lecture-demonstration at the University of California, Los Angeles, May 8, 1966. Track 2-2 recorded in New York City Mar 6-11, 1945. Track 2-3 recorded in New York City Mar 2-4, 1945. Tracks 2-5 to 2-23 are a wood-shedding introduction to Just Intonation, with examples, recorded on May 29, 1967 for an April, 1967 presentation at an American Society of University Composers symposium, "Microtonal Music in the United States." Tracks 3-1 to 3-36 recorded in live performance by Australian Broadcasting Corporation - Broadcast Music Melbourne, Australia, January 23, 1992. Track 4-2 recorded in 1945. Track 4-3 recorded on a Silvertone toy tape recorder from Sears Roebuck. Track 4-4 is an introduction to Plectra and Percussion Dances, KPFA-Berkeley, November 19, 1953. Track 4-5 is a live performance at International House, KPFA-Berkeley, November 19, 1953. Track 4-6 recorded at the University of Illinois, 1961. Track 4-7 was compiled from tapes made during Harry Partch's memorial meeting (1974) and one day visiting the Mitchell's home (1966).
