A.k.a. The Merchant Of Menace
Hugh Brooker first cut his teeth at Acid Jazz Records releasing five albums under the guise of Night Trains and The Humble Souls. Recording, touring, working with and remixing with artists as varied as Africa Bambaata, Earth Wind & Fire, Jamiroquai and The Brand New Heavies. He then set up Super Villain Records with Fat Boy Slim’s manager Gary Blackburn. Their first release was the music from Gary Oldman’s British Academy award winning film 'Nil By Mouth' and then most recently the album 'Outside Looking In' under his new guise 'The Merchant of Menace', which achieved cult status as Steve Lemacq’s Record of the Week on his evening Radio 1 show and was also voted album of the month by Ministry of Sound.
