Recorded at Mido-Kaikan in Osaka on October 17, 1962 The following notice was published on the EM Records web site: "Title Correction for John Cage Shock Vol.2 (CD) and LP Version: We have learned that the piece entitled 26'55.988" for 2 Pianists & a String Player is actually Aria and Solo for Piano with Fontana Mix. On the day of the performance, Oct. 17, 1962, at Osaka's Mido-Kaikan, 26'55.988" was originally listed on the program, but an unannounced decision was made to substitute Aria and Solo. As a result, the tape was labelled as 26'55.988". Two prominent Cage researchers have provided us with strong evidence that the actual piece was Aria and Solo. Performers for Aria and Solo for Piano with Fontana Mix are: Yoko Ono (voice) David Tudor (pf) John Cage (assistant performer) This piece was a combine of Aria (1957-58), Solo for Piano (1957-58) and Fontana Mix (1958). We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. EM Records & Omega Point"
