Born in Salisbury, Wiltshire 1954, Singer and Guitarist, Keith James has been involved, either as a singer/songwriter or as a producer all his life. He released 4 vinyl albums in the early 80’s and recorded many sessions of his own material for BBC Radio 2. He has toured the UK many times, and has also performed across most of Europe, USA and Brazil. Towards the end of the 80’s he set up his own recording studio, a later incarnation of which became very well known among acoustic musicians “Dream of Oswald Studio” Nr Henley on Thames producing a multitude of albums for Folk, Blues and Jazz artists. During this time Keith began recording his own material again to great effect and has since released 7 Albums TOMORROW IS LONGER THAN YESTERDAY , OUTSIDES , THE SONGS OF NICK DRAKE , NO. 1 PARADISE ROAD , A FEW SMALL GRAINS , POSTCARDS and now this brand new Album LORCA. Keith’s music has mostly been described as sultry and evocative; a thinking person’s songwriter. During the production of OUTSIDES in 2000 a decision was made to record a couple of songs by NICK DRAKE -– “Three hours” appears on the Album. Following this the idea to perform an Arts centre concert entirely dedicated to Nick’s music. In the past 6 years Keith, together with Rick Foot on Double Bass, has performed well over 300 of these concerts and has had the of honour of taking Nick’s songs to Glastonbury Festival.
