Track CD1-4: "We did this on a borrowed 4-track recorder. It appeared on a compilation for a fanzine all about food called 'The Gourmandizer'". Track CD1-5: "An outtake from the Long Division recordings. It later came out on an EP in Australia on Summershine Records. One of the first songs written with Zak in the band." Track CD1-6: "Recorded in Minneapolis for a fundraiser compilation for Jabberjaw, a great little club in L.A. that no longer exists. The comp was released on Mammoth records. Zak suggested this Bee Gees cover." Copyright 1972 Casserole Music (BMI). Track CD1-7: "We finally got a 4-track of our own in '95 and started experimenting. Tracks CD1-9, CD1-10 and CD1-11: "These were on the rare Finally EP that barely came out in the UK." Tracks CD1-12 to CD1-15: "These 4 are (..yet more) unreleased tracks from the "Curtain..." sessions. Thank you, Steve Fisk, for keeping a hold of these. You can hear Mimi and Zak on this one, playing Yahtzee in the background on the keyboard take." Track CD1-16: "..., we went down to Olympia and recorded for a day at Dub Narcotic. It was finally released on a split-single with Vibra-Cathedral Orchestra on Misplaced Music in the UK in 2002." Track CD1-17: "Also recorded at Dub Narcotic. This was for a Duplex Planet magazine." Track CD2-3: "it ended up on an instrumental music compilation in Australia". Track CD2-4: "This was a 4-track recording for a tour split CD with the Dirty 3." Track CD2-6: "it was on a compilation 7" for the fanzine "Paper Airplane Pilots". The 7" included our friend Lois Maffeo, ...". Track CD2-7: "By now, we had our own 8-track recorder. This was our first single on Tugboat records in the UK. The extra stuff on the end was mostly to make side A longer than side B, for legal reasons." Track CD2-8 by The Beatles, Harrisongs Ltd. "B-side for "Joan of Arc". We tried to stay true to its original arrangement - a hard thing to do with a Casio toy keyboard." Track CD2-9: "A demo for "Secret Name"." Track CD2-11: "We did a better version of this at the BBC, but it was accidentally erased." Track CD2-13: "There's a backwards and forwards guitar on this - an effort to try to sound more like Bread". Track CD2-14: "This came out only on the Japanese release of "Secret Name"." Track CD2-15 by Spacemen 3, copyright Complete Music. "This was for a Spaceman 3 tribute on Rocket Girl records in the UK." Track CD2-16: "This was recorded by Warn Defever at his home in Michigan.
