Phyllis Hyman's version of CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU was originally recorded in 1974 for Roadshow Records. Unfortunately it never managed to see the light of day as a release for them and remained in their vaults until the Expansion Records' release in 2003. Connie Laverne's version of the song (which appears on the flipside), was also recorded and originally released In 1974 on GSF Records. ------------------------------------------- Although CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU was one of the initial 7 sides that Phyllis Hyman ever recorded in the early part of her career in the very early 70's (most of which, if not all, were for Fred Frank's Roadshow Records). This particular issue/release was culled from Vinyl LP & CD release entitled PHYLLIS HYMAN - IN BETWEEN THE HEARTACHES 'The Soul Of A Diva' on the Expansion Records imprint, of England - Produced by Michael A. Grimaldi. The album's street date was December 12th, 2003. I believe this 7" single was released in early 2004, following the release of the full album and not vice-versa.
