Album AU 1969 on Capitol Records label
Pop and Soundtrack
On Rear Cover: Music Play Based On 'Anna And The King' by Margaret Landon. Made and Distributed in Australia by E.M.I. (Australia) Limited, Sydney, New South Wales. Manufacturers of World-Famous "His Majesty's Voice" Record Players , Radio and Television Receivers. On Labels: Made By E.M.I. (Australia) in Australia. Track B2 is misprinted as 'We Kissed In A Shadow'. It is listed on the Rear Cover and all other versions as 'We Kiss In A Shadow'. Although recorded in state-of-the-art stereo The King and I was originally released by Capital Records as Mono in 1956 and was then released in Stereo in 1958. This 1969 release still has the Mono Cat # W 740 on the front cover. It clearly states Stereo SW 740 on the Rear Cover, Stereo SW-740 on the Labels, SW 740 on the Spine and SW1-740/SW2-740 stamped in the runouts (refer to images). It would appear that in the transition period (the 60's) of distribution of Mono to Stereo versions the Mono template was used to print the Front Cover and a Stereo Sticker placed over the old Cat #. The Stereo sticker on my version was either not placed on it or it has been removed post-sale. I would suspect most if not all other similarly dated releases would have this sticker attached. Either that or it is another misprint on the release
