Village Recorder Studio, San Francisco, CA, October 18, 1970, very good soundboard. And so the story goes… “By the time the Dominos arrived in Berkeley in October 1970, Eric Clapton had heard about a young teenage kid called Neal Schon, who was creating quite a stir on the local scene. He was recording with Santana at the Village Recorder in San Francisco and Eric and some of the Dominos went down to check him out. Before long the Santana band and Eric and company were jamming away. “What you’ll hear here is the result of that informal meeting. Eric was certainly impressed and invited young Neal to play with him and the Dominos at their Berkeley shows. The shows were so good that Eric asked him to join the band. He declined and went on to be a key member in Santana and later formed Journey. He remains one of the world’s most inventive guitarists.”
