Wonkygrooves is the first of two compilations of twisted breakbeats which were made between 2003-2005. Orangeade Barney & Eggnut were released on Crystal Distortion's (Spiral Tribe) label Labrat Audiochemicals in 2004. All the tunes here try to take the Old Skool Hardcore vibe forward into new territory, with wobbling twisty melodies, glitchy breaks and slamming basslines. If you were lucky enough to be involved in the free party scene out in California at around this time you may well have heard me spinning them there...whether they were under the canopy of huge redwoods...or under grimey freeway underpasses.
