Yellow6
Merry6mas 2004 (A Disaster Of Catalogs)

Album UK 2004 on Make Mine Music label
Electronic and Rock (Acoustic, Abstract, Post Rock, Ambient)

Insert: This is a selection of tracks that were scheduled for release but, for one reason or another, never happened. Track 1: There is Loop#2 on 'Disappear Here' and this is it's partner. Originally scheduled for release as a split 12" on Tricycle-Evolutif Records. Tracks 2, 3: Were planned to be released as a lathe cut on the defunct Jonathon Whiskey label. (It should be noted that all the artists agreed to put the tracks on here). Track 4: This didn't make the cut for their remix album. Track 5: Reworked form a completed mix, adding bits of mp3 clips of other songs from their website. It was for the Dreams By Degrees compilation Blue, but the compiler didn't think it fitted with the rest of the album. Track 6: For for the proposed (and still possible) AMP vs. Yo La Tengo release on Endorphin Records. 5 different mixes, this was #4, one that AMP themselves wouldn't have picked for release. Track 7: The first remix Yellow6 ever did, which was never scheduled for release at all, just done for the fun of it. The original of this track, on Italian compilation 'See Through But Solid' (a compilation that Yellow6 were meant to be on but the submitted track didn't fit the album). This remix doubled the length (this is an edit due to lack of time). Track 8: Remix is one of many for their remix album. A different one was included. Track 9: A number of people asked to remix Yellow6 for the Source:Remix album never sent anything back. This one did come back, but arrived about a year too late for the album. Tracks 10, 11: Considered for a 5" lathe cut split single on Earworm, which was scrapped when the label closed shop. Had a 2 minute time limit. Track 12: New unfinished song. Swedish, it means "A dull morning often heralds a clear day". Mention and pay respects to a number of people without whom Yellow6 wouldn't be what or where it is now...John Peel - the first person to play Yellow6 on the radio. Also lost this year some of my biggest influences: John McGeoch (Magazine, Banshees), Robert Quine (Voidoids, Lou Reed), Arthur "Killer" Kane (NY Dolls), Johnny Ramone, Ray Charles, Estelle Axton (Stax Records)... Thanks to all the artists for consenting to their works being presented here in a form in which they were not intended to be heard, and thanks to you for listening - at least once! CD: ©2004 Other Notes: Edition of 125 Packaged in plain white stickered sleeve with insert. Track 13 is not printed on release, but is credited in The 6mas Box.
