Pop and Soundtrack
Tracks are numbered from 1 to 18 on the website, but track 9 is missing. Total length: 1:00:32. From the website: "As cinema spectators we liked the idea of making a mix from some of our favourite film soundtracks and also from movies whose sound caught our attention. Sound is a basic pillar of cinema and we believe that without sound and music films wouldn't be a complete piece of art. The main idea was to make a mix from original soundtracks and also from original sounds such as effects and voices. We give the same creative value not only to the musicians but also to the sound designers. For this reason, a lot of films that we love don't appear, because they don't use original soundtracks exclusively made for the movie. The films chosen are “Persona” by Ingmar Bergman, “Heavenly Creatures” by Peter Jackson, “Snowtown” by Justin Kurzel, “Take Shelter” by Jeff Nichols, “The Ballad of Genesis” and Lady Jaye by Marie Losier, “Kynodontas” by Giorgos Lanthimos, “Disgrace” by Steve Jacobs, “You and the Night” by Yann Gonzalez, “Cube” by Vincenzo Natali, “Benny's Video” by Michael Haneke, “π” by Darren Aronofsky, “Koyaanisqatsi” by Godfrey Reggio, “Laurence Anyways” by Xavier Dolan, “The Hunger” by Tony Scott, “Irréversible” by Gaspar Noé, “Videodrome” by David Cronenberg, “Seom” by Kim Ki-duk, “THX 1138” by George Lucas, “Bent” by Sean Mathias, “Gerry” by Gus Van Sant, “Happy Together” by Wong Kar-Wai and “Talk to Her” by Pedro Almodovar. There are two exceptions that aren't original soundtracks: the song by Caetano Veloso, who we really love and whose song appears in “Happy Together” and “Talk to Her” (playing it on the film). And also the song by Arvo Pärt (the musician, which inspires us), which had been written long time before the film, but whose soundtrack was completely by him."
