Album US 1976 on Atlantic label
Latin (Salsa, Funk)
Gracias, to the many musicians, vocalists and friends who have been associated with my career these hectic years. The one thing that is most clear to me now is that each of us was, and is, involved in the struggle for survival, recognition, and respect not only for ourselves as individuals, but for our music--which could have been totally ignored or swallowed in the mainstream, dissected from its roots. Gracias too, to Ralph Mercado and Ray Aviles, who gave us the stage of the Beacon Theatre for a night in order that a new band might be born; to Jerry Masucci at Fania Records and Ramon Silva of Atlantic, two people who share the dream of greater exposure for our music, and are working to make that dream a reality; and gracias to la gente, the people who came out and kept us alive while they waited for the rest of the world to catch up! Ray Barretto Recorded live at the Beacon Theatre, New York, New York--May 28 1976. Re-mixed & mastered at Atlantic Recording Studios, New York, N.Y. In this two record set Side One is backed with Side Three and Side Two is backed with Side Four.
