Total playing time: 77:09 Recorded: 5/1957 (1-6), 5/1963 (7-9), and 5/1962 (10-12), USA. Ives's 'Three Places' and 'Symphony No. 3' were recorded on May 5, 1957, on 3-track half-inch tape using one 201 and two M56 Telefunken microphones. The works were originally released as SR90149. Schuman's 'New England Triptych' was recorded on May 5, 1963; Mennin's 'Symphony No. 5', on May 7, 1962. Both works were recorded on 3-track half-inch tape using three 201 Telefunken microphones and first released on SR90379. All sessions took place in the Eastman Theatre in Rochester, N.Y.
